Fantastic place to stop in for a high-quality espresso.
I visit the Peoria area roughly once every two years, and CxT has been my go-to spot for coffee while I'm in town for the past couple of visits.
Their standard house espresso (as a doppio) is part of my morning routine every day, and I haven't found an espresso to match it elsewhere in Peoria. The baristas are fantastic and knowledgeable about their products, the store is kept clean and has a nice appearance, and I've felt nothing but welcomed whenever I've come in.
From the brief couple of times I've tried other drinks (a cappuccino here and there, something akin to a maple cayenne latte a couple weeks ago, etc.) they've been excellent as well, but I don't know if I'd say they're completely different than what you'd find at any other high-quality café.
Anyway, I'd highly recommend CxT Roasting Company to anyone, but especially for those espresso aficionados out there.
EDIT: went back a second time and had a much better experience! Got a matcha latte and got the shots on their own, and it tasted much better on its own. The matcha was strong and the ratio was much better!
Ordered a maple oat latte, and I was simply shocked. I watched the barista pull a shot that was HALF WATER which meant there was no coffee flavor, and then the syrup was so plasticky and artificial tasting. The ratios and flavors are just so off with no coffee, too much milk, and literally 2 ice cubes. Not worth the $8 at all.
Wonderful family owned small business. One to support for sure! Love the owners, the fantastic staff and one of my main spots for specialty chocolate cocoa, lattes and tea! Yummmy goodies and very comfortable seating too.
My favorite plain brewed coffee in Peoria! Super cute atmosphere and baristas are always polite. I love stopping by then going on a walk through Donavan park
This is my fiance's favorite place to go. We always enjoy our stops here out on the patio or inside. Family run businesses are always the way to go! There are so many seating options, open to all cultures, easy access for those with disabilities, or need for w/c. Such a friendly atmosphere and caring team working here. My favorite is their iced tea. Their willingness to make it sweet for me is fantastic. The Iced caramel latte is also stellar. Don't miss out on another day of pure bliss.
A good coffee shop and very rustic. The staff are very friendly. They also have nice bakery items. A nice place to hangout.
Good atmosphere. I've been several times to hang out and work for a bit. The coffee is good but I like that they also have some interesting coffee-free "lattes."
Love the people that work there. Coffee is very good and so are all the fresh baked muffins.
Coming here now for a while every Saturday and like their Indonesian and Papa New Guinea coffees. Staff is friendly. Thanks everyone.
Ordered an iced americano, 16 oz and it only received one shot into it. Coffee thus had no coffee flavor and was extremely watered down. The water to ice ratio is very important and the drink had very little ice in it; low quality americano, one of the most basic drinks. Not worth $6
